Summer Commissioning Ceremony, NSU AROTC

On 10 August 2012 COL Jim Smith, USA-Ret. and a member
of the Hampton Roads Chapter, MOAA, presented a set of gold bars to the
four graduates of Norfolk State University who were about to be commissioned
as Second Lieutenants in the United States Army. Shown Above is Brittany
M. Hamlin, Medical Service Corps, with a BS Interdisciplinary Studies.
Below are Brandon J. Henderson, Quartermaster, with a BS Interdisciplinary
Studies; Alex C. Hobbs, Field Artillery, with a BS Interdisciplinary
Studies; and Dwight Tennyson Jr., Infantry, with a BS Business Management.
In a ceremony following, family members pinned the shoulder boards on each
with their new ranks.
The chapter also arranged, for each, a free e-membership in the Military
Officers Association of America at the national level. |
