Winners of the 2014 Col. Marvin J. Harris Communications Award Conetst were announced by MOAA and once again your chapter came out on top.

"The Hampton Roads (Va.) Chapter performed well in Category I (400-599 members).  Chapter newsletter editor Cmdr. John Vermillion, USN (Ret), took top honors in the print and e-newsletter categories for The Tribute, while the chapter's website (www.hrcmoaa.org) received first runner-up, thanks to the hard work of webmaster Maj. Clifton Furedy, USAF (Ret)."

26 June Luncheon

Veterans Bill Signing
Governor Terry McAuliffe ceremonially signed Virginia Senate Bill 931 during a military and veterans bill signing event June 23, 2015, in Norfolk, Va.  Sponsored by Senator Lynwood W. Lewis, Jr., the bill changes the definition of "veteran" for purposes of determining eligibility for the Virginia Veterans ID Card to include the Virginia National Guard and took effect July 1.  Pictured above is member CDR Linc Smith, USN (Ret), on left, with his girlfriend Betty Snellenberg on the right.  They posed with Governor McAuliffe and CAPT Schager, CO NAS Oceana.
