| The Naval ROTC Fall Commissioning Ceremony
was held on Saturday December 14, 2013 at 1800 in the L. Douglas Wilder
Center on the Norfolk State University Campus. The ceremony was hosted
by CAPT Daniel S. Cave, USN, Commanding Officer/Professor of Naval
Science and started with the JOINT ROTC CHOIR singing a rendition of the
National Anthem that was very moving resulting in a number of emotional
displays in the audience. The audience was addressed by University
Officials including Old Dominion University's Director of Military Affairs,
Vice Admiral (VADM) David Architzel, USN (Ret). The Guest
Speaker was BGEN Brian Beaudreault, USMC, Deputy Director, Joint
Training, J7, the Joint Staff. HRCMOAA representative, CAPT Mike
“Breeze” Barea, USN-Ret presented the Gold Bars.
